Catamaran Cruise Destinations

DESTINATIONS

The Dutch setteld here in 1652 although first seen by Portugese navigators in 1500. This Atlantic Ocean bay gained it's name from the overlooking Table Mountain and extends 12 mi (19 km) by 8 mi (12.9 km) containing Robben Island.

The harbour is South Africa's oldest and houses the V & A Waterfront, the country's most visited destination. This working harbour hosts luxury cruise liners on stop overs as they make their way around the world.

Table Bay

Situated only 7.5 mi (12km) off the coast from Cape Town, it's name being Dutch for "seal island".The Island is roughly circular and about 0.6 mi (1km) wide.

Used as a place of exile and imprisonment for over 400 years, it now represents a symbol of South African Heritage since becoming a living museum in 1997.

Robben Island is most famous for the imprisonment of former President Nelson Mandela. He spent 27 years on the Island.
Robben Island

Most noted for it's conspicuous Mouille Point lighthouse with it's haunting foghorn. Finding it's origin as a simple oil lantern warning ships of the rocky coastline and finally erected by Herman Schutte in 1824.

This tiny area with it's wide vista of open ocean lies just west of the V & A Waterfront.
Mouille Point Light House

These four small beaches, seperated by large granite boulders are sheltered from the summer south easterly wind. Trendy fourth beach heaves with activity and beautiful bodies baskin in the sun.
Clifton Beaches

White beaches at the foot of the Twelve Apostles mountain range surrounded by prime real estate and a promonade lined with cafes, bistros, restaurants and bars make Camps Bay ideal for urban beach life.

Definately the place to "see and be seen".
